United States Mint products with Great Smoky Mountains National Park quarters in circulating quality debuted on January 27, 2014.
2014 Great Smoky Mountains Quarter and Products
Available product options include varying quantities of the coins — 40, 80, 100 and 120 options, and from three different U.S. Mint coin production facilities to include the Denver Mint, Philadelphia Mint and San Francisco. Product prices range from $18.95 to $46.95.
Debut sales of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains quarter in rolls and bags became public last week, published by the U.S. Mint. As the 21st issue in the series of America the Beautiful Quarters, it is interesting to compare how opening sales of the newest coin compared to those of the past.
Following trends, the highest starting sales belonged to two-roll sets of P&D Great Smoky Mountains Quarters at 8,197. Next highest were three-roll sets of the P, D and S Great Smoky Mountains Quarters with debut sales of 6,413. These sets do not date back to the release of the first America Beautiful Quarters in 2010 because the U.S. Mint introduced them only in 2013.
Single rolls filled with the "S" mint marked America the Beautiful Quarters, introduced in 2012, were third at 2,994. Then, 100-coin bags of San Francisco struck quarters at 2,607, Philadelphia Mint struck quarters at 1,910 and Denver Mint-struck quarters at 1,897.
Across all new products with Great Smoky Mountains Quarters, collectors ordered a total of 2,186,480 coins, which is slower than the start of the last quarter released in 2013 which commemorated Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
Included in the tables below are debut sales and current sales for all past issues of America the Beautiful Quarters in bags, rolls and roll-sets. Sales marked with one asterisk (*) are products that are no longer available from the U.S. Mint.

**Debut sales for Mount Hood quarters are suspect because of erroneous order cancellations that occurred at the time due to issues with the United States Mint ordering system.
Immediately next in the U.S. Mint’s lineup for an America the Beautiful product release is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Quarters Three-Coin Set. It debuts on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon ET. It has an uncirculated Great Smoky Mountains Quarter from Philadelphia, an uncirculated Great Smoky Mountains Quarter from Denver and a proof Great Smoky Mountains Quarter from San Francisco. Its price is $9.95 and it will be on sale www.usmint.gov.
