in ATB Quarters, US Mint Product Releases

White Mountain National Forest Quarter

Starting on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, the United States Mint will offer circulating quality White Mountain National Forest Quarters in bag and rolls.

These include White Mountain quarters minted from Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco with each have the respective mint marks of ‘D’, ‘P’ and ‘S’.

‘S’ quarters in circulating-quality were introduced by the U.S. Mint in 2012. Unlike the ‘P’ and ‘D’s, these will not enter circulation but are produced specifically for collectors. Last year they were sold in 100-coin bags and in a 40-coin roll. This year they have added a new product with them, the three-roll sets.

News of these latest products has been known for some time as the U.S. Mint issued an official coin news statement on Jan. 22, 2013. It reminded customers of the new 2013 America the Beautiful Quarter and the pricing options for the products.

White Mountain quarters feature Phebe Hemphill’s design of a Mt. Chocorua, the easternmost peak of the Sandwich Range. The mountain is framed by birth trees. Inscriptions include WHITE MOUNTAIN, NEW HAMPSHIRE, 2013 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

White Mountain quarters are first of the five 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters. Forthcoming releases celebrate Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial of Ohio, Great Basin National Park of Nevada, Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine of Maryland, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial of South Dakota.
