The United States Mint on Thursday, March 24, announced the ceremonial launch dates and locations for two more America the Beautiful Quarters®.
United States Mint and National Park officials are expected to ceremoniously release the Glacier National Park Quarter on April 13, and the Olympic National Park Quarter on June 14.
These coins are the seventh and eight issues within the Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program which will honor national sites in the U.S. and its territories until 2021. The program was introduced to the public in 2010 with the first five releases honoring Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Yosemite National Park in California, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.
The upcoming Glacier quarter celebrates the national park in Montana while the Olympic quarter celebrates the national park located in Washington. The United States Mint has already issued the first 2011-dated quarter honoring Gettysburg National Military Park.
The United States Mint also said it will host public coin forums on the day prior to each quarter release. Forums offer coin collectors and other enthusiasts the opportunity to ask questions about old and new American coins and Mint products.
